The lack of diversity within the tech industry is a big problem. Everyone knows it.

Given that studies show inclusivity increases both innovation and profit — and everyone also knows the tech industry loves innovation and profit — why isn’t better progress being made?

The Feb. 18 session of Women In Tech Summit Connect (WITS Connect) will examine the tech industry’s equity issue.

It will feature women tech leaders discussing new ways to hire for greater equity. Sharing their insights will be Amy Kardel, Vice President of Strategic Workforce Relationships at CompTIA, and Dr. Georgette Fraser-Moore, President and CEO of Transformation Lead.

WITS Connect is a free, virtual monthly meetup for women working in and with technology and is a program of Creating IT Futures, the tech workforce charity founded by CompTIA.

Each month, WITS Connect will feature professional women in IT sharing their expertise in a trending area in the tech industry, or insights acquired during their tech careers. The program is for women at all levels of their careers and in all tech roles. During WITS Connect, women can share stories and questions — and then build new relationships and connections, which has been shown to help advance women’s careers.

February’s WITS Connect is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. EST. Registration for the program is free and online; click here.
